Bishop Paul G. Bootkoski, of the Diocese of Metuchen, commemorated “World Day of the Sick” by holding Mass at St Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick.  Following the noon service, the Bishop also blessed some patients at their bedside.

On July 20, 2010, Ariana McGuire nearly lost her life after walking into the path of an arrow fired from a friend’s bow.  The arrow penetrated at least three inches into the young girl’s brain, severing her middle cerebral artery.  The road to recovery for eight-year-old Ariana has been long and challenging, but this week, her doctors plan on sending her home from the hospital.
